Take a look at the following list and the percentage of people who left for each reason.

• 3% move away
• 5% develop other friendships
• 9% for competitive reasons
• 14% are dissatisfied with the product or service
• 68% because of an attitude of indifference by the owner, manager, or some employee.

The Dip by Seth Godin, Piatkus Books, UK, 2007 $17.95

I'm a Seth fan but you don't need to be to find this tiny little book (80 pages) just the foot in the behind that most of us need.

He is disarmingly and annoyingly correct in his discussions about what our internal motivations are, why we stick with things and why we give in and up.

We can hold what we think are defendable ideas about our strategies and tactics and he deals swiftly with them all.

If you have a dilemma, are in a rut or are just feeling reflective, there is something in these pages that could help. It might hurt though. Seth packs a punch in this one.
