This is the first time in 34 issues over three years that we have published m-news in a different format. No quick six this issue. We want to concentrate on just one theme. It's a matter of urgency. There is too little understanding that communication empowers. It really does. If an organisation wants to establish, develop or maintain relationships with other organisations, groups or individuals, it must communicate with them. It must work out which groups it needs to communicate with, work to understand what is important to both parties and find out how best to talk with and listen to those groups. Then it has to sustain communication with all of these groups. Communication makes organisations understood. It explains their goals and actions and the thinking and expertise behind them. When organisations are understood, they can go about their business unfettered or adjust their tactics or direction based on the feedback they receive from other parties. Communication keeps organisations on track. It facilitates business and enables progress. It explains, informs, describes, excites. Communication empowers. Understand it. Believe it. Resource it. Or just call us. I believe it so much I named my company after it. Communication empowers. Karen Morath, managing director, M Power
